Especially, in order to attract people into activities about responding to climate change, communications activities included roundtable discussions about water resources as well as the signing of deals on water protection in Phuoc Tien commune in Bac Ai district. Organized in combination with local authorities, the activities included the participation of nearly 100 local residents from six hamlets of the commune.
The roundtable discussions contributed to further improve public awareness about water resources, solutions on water resources protection, and proper use of water in agricultural production and livelihood activities.
Notably, after the roundtable, Phuoc Tien’s People’s Committee began a project to upgrade the commune’s Tra Co canal, with the participation of local people and under financial support of some enterprises.
Also within these many activities, the Committee on Capacity Building and Implementing ODA-based Water Projects in Ninh Thuan province has teamed up with women living in Street are No.2 of Van Hai quarter of Phan Rang – Thap Cham to organise a meeting to talk about water resources and climate change, with the use of pictures and photos as effective tools to further enhance women’s awareness of water resources and climate change.
This will help attract more women into activities to cope with climate change and protect water resources through specific actions and solutions. This meeting was participated in by more than 50 women.
