With the theme “Going to the market with a basket– Pride of housewives” a workshop was organized by the Unit for Capacity Building and the Implementation of ODA-funded Water Projects. Attending the workshop was more than 20 representatives from the Women’s Union of Phan Rang-Thap Cham city plus women from 16 communes and quarters in the city.

Climate change awareness raising activities conducted with the youth of Ninh Thuan province

A program of awareness raising on climate change and water resource management issues has been implemented Ninh Thuan province as organized by the Committee on Capacity Building and Implementation of water ODA Projects. In cooperation with the Youth Union of Phan Rang-Thap Cham city, a total nine separate communications events were held involving more than 300 students during June 2018. The activities serve to boost the implementation of communications activities about raising awareness about and response to climate change, and protecting and effectively using water for young people in the city.

Founding the environmental protection group at the beaches in Ninh Thuan province

Chairwoman of the Women Union in Khanh Hai town in the coastal area of Ninh Thuan’s Ninh Hai district, Mrs Nguyen Thi Thoi, announced that an environmental protection group has recently been established to focus on the beaches in Ninh Thuan province. The group in Khanh Hai town includes the participation of more than 80 people from the Youth Union, the Women Union, the Farmers Union, and the Veteran Union.

Ha Tinh: Hundreds of students take part in contest for “Ringing the Golden Bell for Environmental Protection”

With the participation of 600 students from six universities, colleges and vocational schools, a contest for “Ringing the Golden Bell for Environmental Protection” was recently host in Ha Tinh by the Project Management Unit (PMU) under the Ha Tinh Industrial and Civil Construction Works Project, the Youth Union, and the Galaxy English Language Centre. In addition, the contest included participation from hundreds of other students from the audience.

Working with the Women’s Union Phan Rang-Thap Cham city, the coordination unit of the Belgian-funded climate change project has launched a club named “Going to the market – Pride of housewives”. The project, known officially as “Integrated water resource management and urban planning in relation to climate change in Ninh Thuan province” has a strong communications component aimed towards raising awareness of a variety of issues in relation to conservation, “green living” and protecting water resources.

Large crowds attracted to World Water Day 2018 events in Ninh Thuan. More than 500 people have participated in activities in response to the World Water Day 2018 in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan.

According to the Committee on Capacity Building and Implementing ODA-based Water Projects in the south-central province of Ninh Thuan, from March 20-30, more than 500 people – including staff from state-owned agencies, pupils, students and inhabitants from Ninh Thuan, directly partook in activities in response to the World Water Day 2018. The event, themed “Nature for Water”, explored how communities and governments can use nature to overcome the water challenges of the 21st century.

Communications and community development: Initial results and orientations for 2018

Ha Tinh Province: With a view to raising the community’s knowledge and awareness about climate change and solutions to respond to climate change in the Rao Cai river basin,  the Co-ordination Board of the Belgian-backed project on “Integrated water resources management and urban planning in relation to climate change in Ha Tinh province (SRDP – IWMC)” organized three training courses on communications and responding to climate change. Each course lasted two days ad was scheduled between 27 July 27 and 12 August.

Ha Tinh University students partake in the “Climate change and young people’s responsibility” forum

According to the co-ordination committee of the Belgian-funded project of “Integrated water resource management and urban planning related to climate change in Ha Tinh province” (IWMC), after nearly one month since launching the photo contest titled “Climate change and young people’s responsibility”, the contest’s organising board has received more than 100 photos from Ha Tinh University students.
